Hibiki Master's Select Price: What It Costs in Japan
Hibiki Japanese Harmony Master’s Select is not simply a cheaper or more expensive version of standard Hibiki Harmony. It is primarily a travel-retail product, so the place where you see it matters as much as the number on the tag.
Current Japan reference price
Our August 2026 record is ¥17,000 at Japan airport duty-free for a 700ml bottle. That is not an ordinary domestic shelf price, and it should not be compared directly with a supermarket bottle.
The bottle is marked allocated because airport stock and travel-retail availability change. If you are not flying, the price you see elsewhere may be a secondary or imported-market price.
How it compares with standard Harmony
Standard Hibiki Japanese Harmony is the easier reference bottle. Our record is ¥11,000 in Japan and about $85 in the US, based on a named retail price. Master’s Select is more expensive in the airport record and is sold through a narrower channel.
Both are blended whiskies from Suntory. Both are designed around floral fruit, sweetness and Mizunara character rather than heavy peat. The practical difference is not that one is automatically “better”; it is that Master’s Select is harder to compare because its distribution is narrower.

Is Master’s Select real Japanese whisky?
Our record marks it as compliant, but the source and date are still important. Product formulations and statements can change, and travel-retail labels are not a substitute for a producer statement.
The safe buying rule is simple: pay for the flavour and the occasion, not the words “Master’s Select” alone. If the airport price is close to standard Harmony plus a sensible gift premium, it can be a good purchase. If the bottle is being sold as a rare domestic allocation far above that reference, the distribution story is doing most of the work.
